Hudson Grande Senior Living Debunks Myths Surrounding Memory Care

Category: Dementia Resources

Author: Kimberly Becton, Memory Care Director

There are several myths surrounding memory care, the specialized attention for individuals with memory impairments, such as Alzheimer’s disease or other forms of dementia. It’s important to debunk these myths to promote a better understanding of memory care by providing accurate information to help families find the right level of care at the right time for their loved ones.

Living in Memory Care Neighborhoods does not take away the independence of those living with dementia. We do our very best to help our residents maintain their independence. We have had residents, past and present, who gain more independence once they moved in. We do our very best to create a fun, uplifting atmosphere. We use the engagement profiles that are filled out by family members and host events that interest the residents.

Unfortunately, dementia isn’t something that only affects the older population. We are seeing younger age groups affected by it as well. In a lot of cases the overall health of loved ones tends to improve after moving into our Neighborhood; being in an environment that is tailored to them helps tremendously.

As the Memory Care Director at Hudson Grande Senior Living, I hope this information helps provide a better picture of an Arrow Memory Care Neighborhood. It is important to gather accurate data to dispel myths and make informed decisions regarding memory care for yourself or a loved one. Arrow Senior Living Memory Care Neighborhoods are full of life and joy. They are a place where individuals living with dementia can thrive and feel purposeful. Interested in learning more?
