Creating a Thriving Workplace Culture

Category: Culture & Traditions

Author: Makenzie Shover, Assistant Executive Director

In today’s fast-paced world of healthcare, we realize the importance of creating a positive workplace culture. Here at The PrairieStone Senior Living, we understand to achieve this culture, employees must trust their workplace.

Four smiling people dressed in 90s-themed attire, holding fun props like a Rubik's cube, a '90s' sign, and a boombox cutout, posing for a photo at a job fair event.

Each August, The PrairieStone participates in the Great Place to Work Survey. This is a time where staff can be open and honest about their feedback. The data is collected by a third party, so it truly is anonymous. It is so important for us to hear the good, the bad, and the ugly to know what we can work on to truly make our community a great place to work.

As the Assistant Executive Director, I actively promote employee appreciation. I make it a priority to recognize our hard-working team members and celebrate their contributions. We’re fortunate to have such an outstanding team at The PrairieStone. My goal is for every team member to look forward to coming to work each day with a smile, leaving a positive impact on both residents and coworkers. I want everyone to feel valued and know they’re making a difference in our community.

We believe when done right, making work a fun place creates a workplace culture that helps people thrive, promotes retention, and makes us a great place to work, which in turn makes us a great place to live.

PrairieStone Senior Living is a comprehensive community soon to be offering independent living plus, assisted living, and memory care, accompanied by an array of services and floor plan options.
